Richard Thomas (Dick) Ehlert, 62, of LaGrange died July 27 in Austin. Funeral services were scheduled for July 30 in St. Paul Lutheran Church with Seminarian Paul Zwarich and Pastor Clarence Oestreich officiating and burial in the LaGrange City Cemetery.

Mr. Ehlert was born Feb. 1, 1936 in LaGrange, the son of Charles Henry and Vera Elizabeth (Wendt) Ehlert. After his first wife, Barbara (Stavinoha) Ehlert, died, he was united in marriage with Paula Mae Steinhauser Nov. 24, 1985 in Austin.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Mae Ehlert, of LaGrange; one daughter, Beth Cleckler, of Austin; one son, Richard D. Ehlert, of Austin; one special son, Brad Anderson, one stepson and daughter-in-law, Mark and Debbie Steinhauser, of LaGrange; one stepdaughter, Ann Steinhauser of LaGrange; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles H. Jr. and Jo Ehlert, of Katy; four grandchildren, Kelly Cleckler, Jessica and Matthew Steinhaser and Abby Lyn San Miguel; two nephews, Bob Ehlert, and Terry and wife, Mary Ehlert; cousins, Thelma and Lt. Col. Harry Kahn, Jane Ann Wendt Craig and Nina Carol Wendt.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara (Stavinoha) Ehlert, and his parents.

Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home of Austin was in charge of arrangements.
