Lillie Eilers Funeral


Victoria – Miss Lillie Eilers, 88 of 101 N. Vine St., died early Tuesday morning, Sept. 3, 1985 at her home following a short illness.

Born Dec. 13, 1896, in Gonzales County daughter of Gerhard and Maria (von Dovenmuhle) Eiler, she had lived in the Victoria area most all of her life and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 from the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. James L. Carlson officiating.

Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home Chapel.

Serving as pallbearers were Clifford Townsend, William Eilers, Scott Townsend, Keith Townsend, Chuck Wright and Gary Rhoden.

A prayer service was held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel.

Surviving are four sisters, Clara Nelson, Mary Townsend and Adeline Brown, all of DaCosta, Helen Eilers of Victoria; a brother, Hennie Paul Eilers of DaCosta.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, the Rev. Erhard Erhard Eilers Sept. 5, 1982; two sisters, Miss Annie Eilers, Oct. 14, 1970; and Miss Ella Eilers.
