ANNA (MIKULENCAK) ELSIK

 

Mrs John (Anna) Elsik Sr. passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emily Meyer, of Cuero, Sunday, May 26, 1957.

She had made her home with her daughter for the past two months.

Born at Juhanova, Austria, November 30, 1872, she was 84 years, six months and six days of age at the time of her death. The daughter of the late Paul and Anna Michalik Mikulencak, she was married to John Elsik Sr who proceeded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Emil C Elsik of Dallas, Gus Elsik of Houston: on step son John H Elsik of Shiner; three daughters, Mrs Nick Karl of Corpus Christi; Mrs. Jack Ferguson of Yoakum, Mrs. Dick Meyer of Cuero; two step daughters- Mrs. Tom Malina of Yoakum, and Miss Vera Elsik of Shiner; two sisters- Mrs. Mary Kahanek of El Campo, Mrs. Vera Pustejovsky of Port Lavaca; five brothers: John Mikulencak of Moulton, Joe of Needville, Frank of Flatonia, Willie of Shiner, Paul of Gonzales, one grandson, one granddaughter and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon beginning at the Buffington Funeral Chapel in Shiner at 2:30 and continued at the Czech Moravian Brethern Church with the Rev. Gordon Hejl officiating. Burial was in the Czech Moravian Brethern Cemetery.
