Pallbearers were Daniel DeMaranville, Todd Bading, Neal Ewald, Andrew Taylor, Lance Mueller, and Freddie Brown. Born in New Ulm, Ruby Marek was the daughter of Ladislav and Mary Koch Marek. She was raised in New Ulm and attended the Henkhaus school. On April 21, 1931, she married Fred W. Ewald during a ceremony held at St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Ruby was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring, St. John Ladies Aide, Cat Spring Fire Department Auxiliary, and Sons of Hermann Lodge. Ruby Marek Ewald died Wednesday, Feb. 5 [2003], in Bellville. She is survived by her daughter Ruby Lois Bading and husband Nelson, of New Braunfels; sons Alfred Ewald, of Cat Spring, Allen Ewald and wife Virginia, of Richmond, and Roy Ewald of Spring; sister, Nora Ruhmann, of Canyon Lake; grandchildren, Tamela Ewald DeMaranville, Todd Bading, Deanna Bading Mueller, Melissa Bading, Leann Ewald Jerkins, and Neal Ewald; great-grandchildren Megan, Brandon, Shaun, Justin, Kyle, Ashlee, Blake, Brittany, Elizabeth and Clayton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, five sisters, and daughter-in-law Wanda Lange Ewald. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 480 Ross St., Cat Spring, Tx 78933. Services were held under the direction of Knesek Brothers Funeral
