Peter George Gaidousek was born on February 22, 1920 in Sweet Home, Texas to Frank and Agnus Gaidousek. He passed on to our Lord at 7:30 A.M. June 16, 2003 during a stay at the V.A. Hospital. He was 83 years of age. Peter served in our Armed Forces during W.W.II as a navy cook in Pearl Harbor. He was a proud member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He demonstrated his patriotism every day of his life by flying the U.S. Flag in front of his home. After his discharge from the Navy as Petty Officer First Class, Peter returned to Houston to start his own meat packing & delivery business. He made a life for his wife, Mary Ethyl, and himself and they remained devoted to each other for 44 years. Being the Navy man he was, Peters favorite pastime was fishing with his grandchildren and friends. He took every opportunity to share his experiences and reminisce about Navy adventures and ports of stay. Peter was preceded in death by his wife Ethyl, brothers Joseph, John, Frank, Anton and sisters Annie, Marie and Agnus, making him the last of his immediate family. Peter is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday June 20th at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with interment to follow.
