West - James J. (Jim) Galanti, 55, of Chalk Bluff, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at his residence. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at West Brethren Church with the Rev. Don Ketcham officiating. Burial will follow at West Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Galanti was born July 17, 1945, in Norristown, Pa., the son of John and Maria Galanti. He graduated from Wissachickon High School in Ambler, Pa. He married Shirley Ann Barton Feb. 24, 1978, in Lake Charles, La. He worked for Raytheon Company in Waco for the last 10 years. Jim was an active and faithful member of West Brethren Church where he was president of the Board of Elders, Sunday School Superintendent, a member of the Men's Brotherhood, taught an adult Sunday School class for numerous years, and sang in the church choir.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Shirley; three sons, James A. Galanti and wife Cheryl of Warrington, Pa., Joseph Galanti and wife Debbie of Washington Crossing, Pa. and Michael Galanti of Stockton, N.J.; a step-daughter, Kim Rankin and husband Russ of Robinson; a sister, Hope Swisher and husband Merwin of Ambler, Pa.; mother-in-law, Polly Barton of West; sister-in-law, Susan Martin and husband John of Chalk Bluff; three grandchildren, Jimmy Galanti and Jerry Galanti of Warrington, Pa., Joey Galanti and Vincent Galanti of Washington Crossing, Pa. and Kayelyn Rankin of Robinson; nieces and nephews, Faith and Anthony DellaDonna of Graterford, Pa., Mark and Karen Swisher of Coplay, Pa., LeAnn and Mark Schneider of Waco and Robert and Georgetta Sleeper of Waco.

Pallbearers are Rick Niemeyer, Joe Barton, Gary Foit, Wilburn Willis, John Kasik Jr. and Howard Sommerfeld.

Memorials may be made to West Brethren Church or Hillcrest Community Hospice.
