Angels took our Mother Herminnie Josephine Venglar Garvel Sunday, August 4, 2002. She was 91 years old. She lived in the Inez- Wood Hi Community. She was a Member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a past member of the Altar Society. She was born May 11, 1911, in Sublime, Texas, to the late Martin and Annie Mucala Horelka. She was a homemaker, active in farming and ranching. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. Survivors: daughter, Virginia Davis and husband Johnnie Davis of Victoria; sons, James Venglar and wife Geraldine Venglar and Gilbert Venglar, all of Inez; sister, Mary Garvel of Victoria; brother, George Horelka of Victoria; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; twelve step-great grandchildren; and two great-great-step grandchild. Many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by: parents; husbands, Gilbert H. Venglar and Leonard Garvel; sisters, Frantiska Matejicek and Aleine Slavik; brothers, Joe Horelka, Frank Horelka, Emil Horelka, Martin Horelka, Victor Horelka, Albert Horelka, Willie Horelka and Louis Horelka; and daughter-in-law, Helen Venglar.
