Robert Walter Patrick Gemp, 75, of Bellville, died July 8, 2001. Funeral services were held on July 10, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville with Father Tim Bucek officiating. Robert was born January 25, 1926 in Maywood, New Jersey to parents John and Cecilia (Stinson) Gemp. He grew up and attended school in Maywood. He served his country in the United States Army from 1944 through 1946. After his honorable discharge, he attended University of Illinois and then graduated from the University of Rutgers. He married Blanche Pataki in 1950 in New Jersey. Blanche preceded him in death in 1989 after 39 years of marriage. He was employed in the Naval shipyards in Philadelphia before being employed as a ceramic engineer for Corning Glassworks in Elmira, New York. Robert and his wife then moved to New Jersey where he worked for Ameriglass. After his retirement, Robert moved to Bellville where he made his home since May 2000. He enjoyed raising English Bulldogs and reading in his spare time. He also loved his ranch. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cecilia Gemp and his wife, Blanche. He is survived by his fiancee, Paula Blaine of Bellville; two daughters, Michele Lang, Dr. Annette Gemp, both of Spring; two songs, Timothy Gemp of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Dr. Matthew Gemp of Houston; five grandchildren, Jason Lang of Austin, Nicole Lang of Spring, Ian Gemp of Houston, Eric Gemp of Houston, Emily Gemp of Houston; two sisters, Rose Kopp of New Jersey and Margaret Daw of Florida. Box 20448, Houston, 77225- 0448. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville.
