Funeral services for Louis M. Genzer were held Thursday, May 16 [2002] at 2 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in La Grange with burial in the La Grange City Cemetery. The Rev. Ellis McKenzie officiated.

Genzer died Monday, May 13 [2002] at his residence in Galveston where he had lived for the past four years.

Formerly of La Grange, he was a master carpenter and member of Gideons, Habitat for Humanity and the Galveston Historical Society. He was a current member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Galveston and former member of Second Baptist Church in La Grange. He married Rebecca Bain Dec. 9, 1995 in La Grange.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Genzer of Galveston; and one daughter, Kathy Genzer of La Marque.

Memorials are suggested to the building fund of Immanuel Baptist Church in Galveston.

Sergeant Memorial Funeral Home of La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
