Yoakum - Henrietta Frels Gerdes, 90, of Yoakum, died Sunday, May 4, 2003.

She was born Jan. 18, 1913, in Concrete, to the late Henry and Wilhemina Blank Frels. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Hermanson Lodge No. 90.

Survivors: son, Herbert Gerdes of Irving; and sister, Hattie Krause of Rockdale.

Preceded in death by: husband, Herbert Gerdes; parents; sisters, Hilda Frank, Lydia Nilsson and Erna Kruse; brother, Walter Frels; and grandsons, James Gerdes and Truett Gerdes.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Buffington Funeral Home chapel, the Rev. Gary Goodson officiating.

Burial will be at Hermann Sons Cemetery. Buffington Funeral Home, Yoakum, 361-293-2333.

Honorary pallbearers: Wilbert Hagens, Ed Kloesel, Norman Monse, Fehner Frels, Gay Frels, Joyce Mueller, Agnes Baros and Della Mikulenka.

Memorials: donor's choice.
