Edna - Ed Gerjes, 101, of Edna, died Sunday, June 29, 2003.

He was born Sept. 28, 1901, in Cordele, to the late Henry and Helene Seibert Gerjes. He was a retired farmer and owner of Ed's Café. He was a Baptist.

Survivors: wife, Rosa Belle Kelton Gerjes; daughters, Jean Hamilton and Joyce Strelec, both of Edna; son, Robert Gerjes of Edna; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great- grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents; sisters, Lenna Gerjes, Emma Gerjes, Augusta Gerjes, Mollie Gerjes and Annie Gerjes; brothers, John Gerjes and Herman Gerjes; grandson, Randy Gerjes; and great-grandson, Brandon Gerjes.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Red Bluff Cemetery, the Rev. George Tompkins officiating. Slavik Funeral Home, Edna, 361-782- 2152.

Pallbearers: Great-grandsons: Shannon Srp, Budd Ratliff, Josh Srp, Jake Srp, Aaron Hamilton, J.B. Pruitt and Richard Gerjes.
