LOUIS GERLICH

 

4/13/1879 -3/22/1958

Funeral Services were conducted Monday morning beginning at the Kubena Funeral Home at 8:30 and continuing at Sweet Home Catholic Church at 9:00 for Louis Gerlich with the Rev. E. B. Kolodzie officiating. Burial was in the Sweet Home Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Gerlich whose home was at 205 Hackberry, in Hallettsville, died in the colonial Rest Home in Schulenburg, Saturday, March 22 at 10:30 p.m. Rosary was recited at the funeral home Sunday night at 7:00.

Born in Czechoslovakia April 13, 1879, he was 78 years, 11 months, and nine days of age. Coming to America, he was married to Miss Annie Matusek in 1900 who preceded him in death. In December, 1915, he was married to Mrs. Anna Orsak who also preceded him in death, and on August 13, 1952, he was married to Mrs. Mary Kepac who is listed among the survivors.

Also surviving are four sons, Willie Gerlich of Houston, Ed Gerlich of Wharton, Charlie Gerlich of Wallis, Albert Gerlich of Marlin; three step sons, Otto Orsak of Hallettsville, Gus Orsak of Louise, Alex Orsak of Garwood; three daughters, Mrs Frank Pesek of Sweet Home, Mrs. Julius Ulcak of Shiner, Mrs. Chas. Pesek of Victoria; one step daughter, Mrs Earl Perry of Rudy, Arkansas; one brother, Charlie Gerlich of Shiner; 24 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
