Funeral services for Mike Everett Gertson, 40, of Eagle Lake were held June 20 at Dulany Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Eddie Winkler officiating. Burial followed at Lakeside Mausoleum in Eagle Lake. He died June 17 in Eagle Lake. He was born March 17, 1960 in Eagle Lake, the son of James Dennis Sr and Una Mae (Lichey) Gertson. He was a graduate of Eagle Lake High School and attended Wharton County Jr College. He led a career in agriculture farming rice in the Eagle Lake area. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James D. Gertson, Jr. Survivors include 2 sons, Mike Ryan Gertson and Joshua Everett Gertson of Eagle Lake; a sister, Beverly Krenek and husband J. P. of Garwood; a nephew, Kris Gertson; and 3 nieces, Cindy Gertson and Jennifer and Nicole Krenek. Pallbearers were Ralph Jr, Darrell, Gayle and Andy Gertson, Darrell Rau, Jim and Dennis Knebel and Eugene Shanks Jr. Honorary pallbearers were fellow musicians in which he enjoyed playing with from the area.
