August W. Girndt, 86, lifelong Fayette County resident, passed away at his hom at Fayetteville Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Girndt was born at Ellinger on Nov. 21, 1861, and 62 years ago married Emma Shaw at La Grange. He was in business at Live Oak Hill near Fayetteville for 45 years. For the past five years the Girndts resided at Fayetteville.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the family residence, and burial will be in the Fayetteville City Cemetery. Rev. H. T. Flachmeier will officiate, and Koenig Funeral Home is directing the funeral.

He leaves his widow, who has been an invalid for the past three years; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Heintschel of Fayetteville and Mrs. Alfred Staffa of Houston; three sons, Arthur of Bellville, Edmund of Wharton, and Oswald Girndt of Baytown; two sisters, Mrs. Selma Cordes of La Grange, Mrs. Lena Ashrich of California; two brothers, Edwin in South Texas and Otto of Ellinger; and five grandchildren.
