Funeral services were held at the family residence at Fayetteville Sunday at 3 p.m. for Mrs Emma Shaw Girndt, 82, who passed away at her home Friday. Rev. H. T. Flachmeier officiated, Koenig Funeral Home directed, and burial was in the Fayetteville City Cemetery. Mrs. Girndt, a Germany native, was born January 16, 1867, and came to this country at the age of 7, settling at Elinger. Sixty-three years ago she was united in marriage at La Grange with August W. Girndt, who passed away last August. For the past six years she lived at Fayetteville. Described by her friends and neighbors as a "kind and loving mother," she had been an invalid for over three years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter Heintschel of Fayetteville and Mrs. Alfred Staffa of Houston; three sons, Arthur of Bellville, Edmund of Wharton, and Oswald Girndt of Baytown; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lillie of Richmond, Mrs. Annie Girndt of Columbus and Mrs. Minnie Zapalac of La Grange; three brothers, Otto, Herman and Henry Loeve; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
