Hallettsville – Mrs. John Grahmann, nee Laura Rothbauer of Hallettsville, died Friday, Sept. 23, 1983 in a Victoria hospital at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 13 days. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 by the parish at the funeral home. Another rosary was recited at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25 by the Christian Mothers Society at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The body lay in state at Kubena Funeral Home until 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25 when it was taken to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services at 3 p.m. The Rev. Celestino Say of Hallettsville and the Rev. Msgr. Thomas C. McLaughlin of Victoria concelebrated the Holy Mass. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jimmy Henneke, Mark Grahmann, Larry Grahmann, Tommy Grahmann Jr., Randy Fojt, Gary Hardcastle, Christopher Grahmann and Russell Grahmann. Honorary pallbearers named were all of the Lavaca County officials and her sons-in-laws and daughters-in-law. Mrs. Grahmann, one of six children was born Jan. 10, 1912, at Hallettsville, Lavaca County, Texas, daughter of Louis J. and Josephine (Christen) Rothbauer Sr. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Society in Hallettsville. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Roland (Dorothy) Henneke of Houston, Mrs. Raymond (Margaret) Fojt, Mrs. Keeneth (Kathryn) Darilek, Mrs. Marvin (Rosemary) Mikush, all of Victoria, and Mrs. Roy (Loretta) Hardcastle of West Columbia; seven sons, Leon Grahmann and Anthony Grahmann of Chappell Hill, Johnny Grahmann, Leroy Grahmann, and Edwin Grahmann, all of Victoria, Tommy Grahmann and Richard Grahmann of Hallettsville; a brother, Lawrence Rothbauer of Hallettsville; 55 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, in Sept. 1943; her father, a native of Austria, Jan. 20, 1969; her husband, Aug. 22, 1981; one son, two brothers, Louis "Lee" Rothbauer, Jr., Apr. 30, 1956; one infant; two sisters, including Mrs. Joe (Irene) Drabek, Jun. 6, 1968.
