West News February 20, 2003 Elizabeth M. (Uptmor) Grellhesl, age 96, of Tours, passed away Sunday morning, February 16, 2003 in West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited at 10 am Tuesday in St. Martin’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10:15 am with Rev. Isidore Rozycki, as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Martin’s Cemetery at Tours. Mrs. Grellhesl was born May 14, 1906 at Tours, daughter of Frank and Mary Uptmor. She lived in Tours most of her life until moving to West fourteen years ago. Mrs. Grellhesl was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours and the St. Elizabeth Society in Tours. She married Joe M. Grellhesl, December 27, 1932 at Tours and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1993. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Clara and Billy Sparks of Gholson, a son, Joe A. Grellhesl of Tours; three granddaughters, Melissa Teal of Gholson, Lynette Kaluza of Ross and Krystal Sparks of Waco; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Garrett Teal of Gholson, Tyler and Taylor Kaluza of Ross and Tristan Fieseler of Waco and several nieces and nephews and many friends. Active Pallbearers were Ernest Bezdek, Benjamin Uptmor, Kenneth Uptmor, Gene Sulak, Aubrey Uptmore and Ernest Uptmore. The family received visitors from 6 pm until 8 pm Monday at Kotch Funeral Home. The family has designated that memorials be given to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or charity of your choice. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
