Funeral services for Otillie "Ta Ta" Grigar, 81, of Sealy, were held Saturday, Jan. 4 with the Rev. Octavio Muguerza officiating. Interment was at the Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis. Serving as pallbearers were Darrell Barrett, Heath Middleton, Bill Cordoba, David Sedberry, Alex Flores and Curtis Howard. Honorary pallbearers were Tyler Turnbull, Andrew Barrett and Cody Howard. Born in Rosenberg, Otillie Veronica Hajdik, was the daughter of George and Anna Sevcik Hajdik. She was raised in Rosenberg and graduated from Lamar High School. She married Alfred A. Grigar, Jr., in Rosenberg. She was chief cook and bottle washer at her daughter's daycare (A Child's Place in Sealy) and worked as a waitress at Zapalac Bar and Restaurant. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy, Sealy Catholic Daughters, Sealy American Legion Auxiliary, and the Sealy K.J.Z.T. She is survived by her daughters, Bee Carpenter and husband Dwight, of Sealy, Chris Mickey husband Larry, of Houston, Gloria Turnbull and husband Jim, of Sealy; son George Grigar, of Austin; sisters, Rosalie Antrich, of Rosenberg, Lillian Macha, of Houston, Georgie Krejci, of Rosenberg; brother, Joe Hajdik and wife Sophie, of Rosenberg; grandchildren Darrell and Nicole Barrett, Cheryl Barrett, David Sedberry, Gloria "Cissy" and Curtis Howard, Heath Middleton, Dee-Dee Barett, Bill Cordoba, Angie Middleton, Kristi and Alex Flores, Nathan Turnbull, Tyler Turnbull; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew and Emily Barrett, Cody and Hannah Howard, Angelo, Anthony and Danielle Barrett, Gia and Blaze Cordoba, MaKaylah Scott, Ashley and Meagan Flores, as well as all her nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, bingo buddies, neighbors, kids from the daycare, and especially Georgie Hinze. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Frances Chrovanec, Agnes Drabek Kveton, Mary David, Cecelia David, Annie Polak, and brother, John Hajdik.
