Frances Tichavsky Grones, 88, of Abbott, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002 in a Clifton nursing home. Private graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. at Bell Springs Cemetery in Abbott with the Rev. Kay Hawkins officiating. Mrs. Grones was born August 5, 1913 to Joe and Agnes (Bartosh) Tichavsky. She married Adolph Grones October 26, 1936. They spent the next 30 years farming and raising a family in Abbott. Mrs. Grones was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a daughter, Patricia Ann Grones. Survivors include daughters Frances "Fran" Mings of Kansas and Margaret "Maggie" Higgenbotham of Valley Mills; a son Edwin Grones of Abbott; sisters, Lillie Adair of West, Leona Bezdek of Abbott; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 277, Valley Mills, TX 76689.
