Shiner - Leslie Harvey Haas, 78, of Shiner, died Thursday, May 22, 2003.

He was born April 17, 1925, in Hallettsville, to the late Joseph and Veronika Mikush Haas. He was a wire bender for Kaspar Wire Works and a Catholic.

Survivors: daughters, Donna Arlitt of Yoakum and Sheryl Barborak of Gonzales; sons, Lester Haas of Shiner and Randy Haas of New Braunfels; sister, Josephine Appelt of Hallettsville; brothers, Clarence Haas of Hallettsville and Harvey Haas of Victoria; and 13 grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: wife, Hattie Louise Haas; parents; sister, Matilda Appelt; and brothers, Hilton Haas and Alfred Haas.

Services will be 1 p.m. today at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, the Rev. Robert Knippenberg officiating.

Burial will be at Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Buffington Funeral Home, Shiner, 361-594-3352.

Pallbearers: Matthew Arlitt, Michael Arlitt, Mark Arlitt, Billy Terry, Nolan Barborak and Ryan Barborak.

Memorials: Donor's choice or Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
