Shiner Gazette 7 Jun 1979 Mrs. Edward J. Hajek, of Yoakum, nee Hertha E. Becker, died at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 1979 in Huth Memorial Hospital attaining the age of 80 years, 5 months and 9 days. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, 1979 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Yoakum with the Rev. Michael O'Shaughnessy officiating. Burial was in the Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Emil Hajek, Guy Meyer, Charles Strauss, Bootsie Ehlers, Frankie Kubecka and H.A. Donnelly. Mrs. Hajek was born at Hallettsville, Dec. 23, 1898, daughter of Robert and Lillie (Voelkel) Becker. On April 28, 1937, she was married to Ed Hajek in the Sweet Home Catholic Church with the Rev. Father G. Kuratko officiating. During the most part of their married life, the couple resided in Shiner. Mr. Hajek, a well known meat market operator, died Nov. 24, 1966. She is survived by a brother, Herbert Becker of Yoakum; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Shulak and Miss Amanda Becker, both of Yoakum. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Dec. 16, 1933;
her mother, Aug. 1, 1959; brothers, Ben E. Becker, June 12, 1966, and Walter
