Hallettsville New Herald 26 Nov 1909 F. J. Hajek Shoots Himself Nov. 22 -- F. J. Hajek committed suicide Monday morning by shooting himself with a shotgun into the heart. What led him to the rash act is a mystery except that he was long in bad health. He was the owner of the mercantile establishment and saloon at Novohrad. He leaves a heartbroken wife, two sons and one daughter to mourn his untimely demise. When the message spread it caused great regret among our people. We extend
condolence to the bereaved ones. May he rest in peace. Newspaper clipping A good many from here attended the funeral of Fr. Hajek, Tuesday in Praha.
