Shiner Gazette 18 Aug 1983 Mrs. Olga Hajek Rites Tuesday Mrs. Charles Hajek, nee Olga Janca, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 1983 in the Retama Manor Nursing Home in Victoria at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 13 days. The body lay in state at the Buffington Funeral Home, Shiner, until 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, when it was taken to Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church where Holy Mass was offered at 10:00 a.m. by the Rev. Abdon Josol. Burial followed in the Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, Donald Hajek, Patrick Hajek, Neal Hajek, Daryl Hajek, Randy L. Stock and John Bowen. Rosary was recited at 8:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Shiner. Mrs. Hajek, one of eight children, was born April 1, 1902 at Plum, near La Grange, Fayette County, Texas, daughter of Frank and Annie (Koniakovsky) Janca. About 1913, the family moved to the St. Ann's community near Petersville, west of Yoakum. On October 25, 1920, she was married to Charles Hajek in the Shiner Catholic Church. The couple made their home on a farm near Shiner until they retired about 1967 and moved to Shiner. In 1978, her husband suffered a stroke and was confined to a nursing home. He died Feb. 20, 1981. Survivors include two sons, Laddie Hajek of Shiner and Marvin Hajek of Victoria; two daughters, Mrs. James (Florine) Stluka of Victoria and Mrs. Willie (Evelyn) Stock of Sugar Land; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hajek was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was
preceded in death by her father, Sept. 6, 1938; her mother, Dec. 21, 1951; four
sisters, Juliana Janca, July 21, 1895; Mrs. Frank (Annie) Matocha, Sept. 26,
1968; Mrs. Bessie Malek Gerhold, Dec. 11, 1972; Mrs. Lillie Jiral Darilek, June
27, 1976; three brothers, Frank L. Janca, Oct. 13, 1960; Willie J. Janca, Oct.
4, 1973; August J. Janca, Oct. 13, 1977; grandson, Benjamin Stluka, Feb. 27,
