Shiner Gazette 2 Oct 1997 Janie Johanna Hajek, 98 years, 1 month and 22 days, of Victoria, died Tuesday, September 23, 1997. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 25 at Colonial Funeral Home chapel on Red River. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Greg Korenek officiating. Burial followed at the Shiner Catholic Cemetery, under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria. Pallbearers were William Hajek, Jerry Hajek Jr., Gary Hajek, Curtis Riske, Adolph Welfel and Kevin Hajek. She was born July 31, 1899, in Praha, to the late Frank and Theresia Barta Migl, natives respectively of Netolice and Cermna in Czechoslovakia. She attended school at Nazareth Convent in the early 1900's. She was a homemaker and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, KJZT, American Legion Auxiliary of Shiner and Altar Societies at some area churches. She is survived by four sons, Johnny Hajek of Shiner, Eugene Hajek of Inez, Jerry Hajek of Victoria and Benjamin Hajek of Auburn, Ala; one brother, Tom Migl of Corpus Christi; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton Hajek, September 16, 1975;
one daughter, Irene Hajek, February 4, 1923 at the age of 2; her father, October
10, 1946; her mother, January 31, 1949; six sisters, Mrs. Joe Jr., (Rose)
Kubenka, March 23, 1996; Mrs. John (Agnes) Kasper, December 30, 1991; Mrs. Fred

Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thrusday, Sept. 25 at colonial Funeral Home Chapel on Red River in Victoria. The body lay in stste at the Colonial Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26 when it was taken to Holy Family Catholic Church for services at 10:30 a.m.. The Rev. Greg Korenek officiated. Burial followed in the Shiner Catholic Cemetery, under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home.
