Hallettsville - Willie E. Hajek, 90, of Baytown, a former resident of the Moravia community, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 1983 in Baytown.

A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30 at Kubena Funeral Home where the body lay in state.

Funeral services were held at 10 a..m Saturday, Oct. 1 at Moravia Catholic Church with the Rev. Benton Thurmond officiating. Burial followed in Moravia Catholic Cemetery.

A retired farmer, Mr. Hajek was born Oct. 26, 1892 in Lavaca County, son of Joseph and Mary (Matula) Hajek.

On Nov. 20, 1916, he was married to Effie Janak in Granger.

He was a member of Moravia Catholic Church and SPJST Lodge.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Hill of Baytown and Mrs. Elsie Mead of Diboll; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Trojcak of Hallettsville and Mrs. Edith Eggert of Robstown; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Aug. 26, 1972; and a son.
