The Banner Press Jan 20, 2000 Abstract of Obituary Funeral services for Vlasta Mary (Kulhanek) Halfmann, 90, of Frelsburg were held Jan 14 at Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg with Fr. Wayne Flagg officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. She died Jan 12 in Columbus. She was born July 16, 1909 in the Lone Oak (Pisek) Community, Colorado Co., Tx, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Pavlicek) Kulhanek. She married Anton J. Halfmann Sr on Feb 12, 1929. She was a housewife, member of St Ann's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1440, and affiliated with Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sons-in-law, Charles Vasek, Albert Huebel; 11 brothers, Lawrence, Frank, Ludvik, Lad, Victor, Adolph, John, Nick, Walter, Joe and George Kulhanek; 3 sisters, Albina Krenek, Anna Meyer and Celestine Kubicek. Survivors include 6 daughters and 4 sisters-in-law, Gladys & Leon Stolle and Jurline Huebel, all of Columbus, Ellen Vasek, Virginia & Joe Faldyn, and Diane & Edwin Seidl, all of Frelsburg, Janice & Arnold Kasmiersky of Fayetteville; 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Anton Halfmann Jr of Frelsburg, Joe & Margie Halfmann of Columbus, Raymond & Sharon Halfmann of New Ulm; sister, Lillie Krueger of Frelsburg; brother, Raymond Kulhanek of Fayetteville; 2 sisters-in-law, Alma and Bessie Kulhanek, both of Columbus; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Michael Faichtinger, Randy Huebel, John Polach, Mark Kasmiersky, Billy Vasek, Arthur Faldyn, R J Halfmann and Paul Prazek. Funeral handled by Henneke Funeral Home Inc of Columbus.
