Houston Chronicle 30 Jul 1999 Rosa Lee Hammack, 90, of Houston and formerly of Angleton passed away Monday, July 26, 1999 in Houston. Funeral services are set for 3:00 p.m. Thursday July 29, 1999 in the First Baptist Church of Angleton with Dr. Rodney Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery. Mrs. Hammack was born October 21, 1908 in Wharton County, Texas to Paul & Rosalie Maly Dujka. She moved to Angleton in 1939, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Angleton. She was a Sunday School teacher in the Beginners Department for several years, and served on the Executive Board of the Woman's Missionary Union for a number of years. Additionally, she served as Secretary to the Gulf Coast Baptist Assoc. of the W.M.U. Mrs. Hammack was active in the Angleton Garden Club and served as an officer of that organization. She also worked with the Cub Scouts and Senior Girl Scouts as well as the PTA. A past member of the Child's Study Club; Phi Kappa Sigma's Mothers' Club, University of Texas. She was election official of Precinct 1 & 5 for a number of years, serving as judge during part of that time, and also assisted in elections for the Angleton Independent School District. Preceded in death by her husband Irwin Halstead Hammack in 1982, Mrs. Hammack is survived by her Son & daughter-in-law: Irwin D. & Nina Hammack of Fort Meyers, Fla. Her daughter: Natalie H.
