Cistern - Henry Hanzelka, 95, of Cistern, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002.

He was born May 27, 1907, in Cistern, to the late Frank and Marie Surcina Hanzelka. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of Cistern Catholic Church.

Survivors: daughters, Audrey Kouba of Columbus and Neomie Howard of Austin; sons, Fred Hanzelka of La Porte and Pat Hanzelka of Pasadena; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: wife, Mathilda Hanzelka; parents; four sisters; two half-sisters; two brothers; and two half-brothers.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. today at Smith Funeral Home chapel.

A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home chapel. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Cistern Catholic Church, the Rev. Charles Carolan officiating.

Burial will be at Cistern Catholic Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home, Flatonia, 361-865-3311.
