Mrs. Geo. A. Ioerger Rites In Arizona


Mrs. Emma Ioerger, resident of Whiteriver, Arizona, died at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, March 9, 1975 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, after five months illness, at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 10 days.

Mrs. Ioerger was born in the Saturn Community in Gonzales County, Texas, August 27, 1912, daughter of Jerome and Hollie (Kite) Barron. Here she grew up and attended the Saturn School.

She was married to George A. Ioerger in 1940 in San Antonio, Texas. To this union one son was born.

Mrs. Ioerger, a graduate of Arizona State University, Phoenix, Ariz., was appointed a health nurse for the US government on the Apache Reservation at Whiteriver, Ariz. She supervised a territory of 20,000 population.

A memorial service was held at 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 1975 in Phoenix.

Surviving are one son, Thomas George Ioerger, and daughter-in-law, Rhoda Whitfield Ioerger of Boston, Mass., three sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Artie) Fogle of Austin, Mrs. Irene McClanahan of Irving, Mrs. Jeff (Letha) Frederick of Shiner; two nieces and four nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, November 29, 1951 and her mother, January 15, 1960.
