Last Rites For Mrs. L. B. Kahanek

Saturday, Oct. 11, last rites were held for Mrs. L. B. Kahanek of Yoakum, Rt. 2, who died at Huth Memorial Hospital the previous day.

Father Kuratko officiated in the chuch, while Father O'Shaughnessy of Shiner officiated at the Shiner cemetery.

She was born near St. John in 1887, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hrncir. There she married L. B. Kahanek who survives with three daughters: Mrs. A. K. Polis of Edinburg, Mrs. C. O. Hagan of McAllen, and Mrs. Virgil Haynes, Yoakum; also seven sons Lee, Dan, Milton and Lawrence all of Yoakum; Julius of California, Emil of Shiner, Louis of Seguin. There are 29 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Also surviving is a brother, Jack Hrncir of League City; eight sisters, Mrs. Ben Becker of Victoria, Mrs. Chas. Pulkrabek and Mrs. Rudy Peters of Yoakum; Mrs. Chas. Ermis of Austin; Mrs. Anton Faltisek and Mrs. Louis Jilek, Moulton; Mrs. Chas. Darilek of Flatonia and Mrs. Carl Vose of San Antonio.
