Waco Tribune-Herald Tuesday, September 18, 2001 Rosebud- Christopher Wayne Kahlig, 19, of Westphalia, died Sunday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Visitation in Westphalia with the Rev. Reinhold Schmitt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cook-Gerngross- Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Christopher was born January 28, 1982, in Rosebud to Kenneth and Geraldine Brenek Kahlig. He was a life-long resident of Westphalia and a 2000 graduate of Rosebud-Lott High School, where he was active in football and baseball. He attended Navarro College in Corsicana, where he participated in intramural football. He was employed with Coufal Equipment Company in Temple and on the family farm during school breaks. He was a member of the Church of the Visitation. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Leona Brenek, Sr. Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Geraldine Kahlig of Westphalia; brothers, Craig Kahlig and wife Charla of Westphalia, Chad Kahlig and wife Karen of Red Ranger; sisters, Vanessa Bosshard and husband Kenneth of San Antonio and Diedra Kahlig of Westphalia; paternal grandparents, Ben W. and Zita Kahlig of Westphalia;and nephews, Dalton Kahlig, Marshall Kahlig, Graham Kahlig and Jakob Bosshard. Note: This young man was killed in a one-car accident.
