REINHOLD KALICH

Reinhold D. Kalich, 90, of 3301 Mockingbird, died Tuesday evening in a local hospital following a short illness.

A resident of the Victoria community for the past 65 years, he was born June 28, 1896, in Fayette County, to the late Joseph and Ludmilla Grahmann Kalich. Mr. Kalich had been a farmer before his retirement, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Hybner officiating. The body will line in state at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow the services in Resurrection Cemetery under the direction of McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louisa Macha Kalich of Victoria; two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Mae Hausman and Mrs. Ronalda Shumbera of Victoria; two sons, Ray H. and C. H. "Bob" Kalich of Victoria; five sisters, Mrs. R. R. "Millie" Nitschmann of Victoria, Mrs. Florian "Lillie" Macha of San Antonio, Mrs. Arnold "Hilda" Meyer and Mrs. Oscar "Louise" Schlinke of Cuero, Mrs. Sam "Hattie" Mills of Aransas Pass; a brother, Henry Kalich of Victoria; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Roy Kalich, and a great-grandchild. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund.

Pallbearers will be Kevin and A.J. Kalich, Van and Mark Shumbera, Cary Hoff, and E.L. "Buddy" George. Honorary pallbearers will be George Sumbera, Benny Farber, Bill Outlaw, Frank Kleiber and Richard Hausmann.

Mr. Kalich was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Joe Macha, Mrs. Howard Conwell and Mrs. Mary Nitschmann, and two brothers, Joseph F. and Anton Kalich.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund.
