Funeral services for Annie Kalina, 91, of Sealy formerly of Smithville, Texas were held on Wed.,Nov 22, 2000 at 10 am at the Knesek Bros Funeral Chapel in Sealy with Rev Henry Beseda and Rev Dan Marek officiating. Interment was at the Kovar Brethren Cemetery near Smithville, Tx. Serving as pallbearers were Benjamin Hajdik, Jesse Hajdik, Jake Kalina, Allen Kurtz and Aubrey Richter. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Tommy Hooker and Allen Milberger.

She was born Annie Martha Lastovica on June 25, 1909 in Granger, Tx to parents Paul Lastovica and Agnes Kocian Lastovica. She was raised in Granger and attended the Granger public schools. On Oct 12, 1930 she married Mr. Louis Kalina and was a homemaker all her life. She was a member of SPJST Lodge Kovar and the Christian sisters of Kovar Brethren Church. Annie Kalina died Saturday, Nov 18, 2000 in Houston, Tx. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Dorothy and Wilbert Milberger of Sealy, grandchildren; Allen Milberger of Lewisville, and Stacy Hooker and husband, Tommy Hooker of Huntsville, great-granchildren; Anika and Riley Milberger, Kameron and Kelton Hooker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Agnes Lastovica, husband, Louis Kalina, sisters: Albina Lastovica, Mary Hajdik, twin sister; Frances Welley, brother; Jim Lastovica.
