West News November 14, 2002 Mary (Petter) Kallus, age 84, of West, passed away Friday afternoon, November 8, 2002 at West Rest Haven. A rosary was recited 7 pm Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 am Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Mrs. Kallus was born October 31, 1918 in Tours, the daughter of Frank and Matilda (Zatopek) Petter. She married Ben J. Kallus on November 20, 1945 in West. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1970. Mrs. Kallus was a homemaker. She was a member of the KJZT Society #11 and the Ladies Altar Society. She was also a very faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption. Mrs. Kallus was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin A. Kallus, who passed away May 12, 1994. Survivors include her daughter, Mary M. Kallus of West; a sister, Emilie Lednicky of West; a granddaughter, Mary Catherine Kallus of Odessa; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Foster of Odessa; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Edwin Lednicky, Gene Lednicky, Daniel Petter, Al Petter, Thomas Petter and Raymond Kupcak. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church Parish Center.
