E.J. KALUZA

E.J. Kaluza was born Sept. 30, 1924 in Richmond, and he passed away peacefully at his home in Fairchilds Friday, Aug. 9, 2002.

Funeral services are scheduled fro 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. The Rev. James Ramsey will and Monsignor Reginald Nesvadba will officiate the services.

Visitation will be held fro 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, and a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Davis- Greenlawn Funeral Chapel, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. in Rosenberg.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Sembera, Glen Vecera, Emil Sodolak, Jay Velek, Joe Kovar Jr., Sonny Urbanek Jr., Leon Macha and Lynn Sembera.

E.J. was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lee; his parents, Frank and Albina Kaluza and his brothers, Eldon and Louis Kaluza.

He is survived by his sons, Gary Kaluza and his wife, Linda of Fairchilds, Kelly Kaluza and his wife, Jerry of Richmond; his daughters, Carol Zahradnik and her husband, Ed of Sugar Land and Marylin Buchta and her husband, Mark of Damon; his eight grandchildren, Natalie Janik and her husband, Paul of Katy, Laurie Kaluza of Fairchilds, David Kaluza and his wife, Aliisha of West Columbia, Christie Kaluza of Houston, Keith and Ryan Zahradnik of Houston and Marissa and Miles Buchta of Damon; his five great grandchildren, Joshua Kaluza, Mason Kaluza Etzel, Taylor Kaluza and Jack and Luke Janik; his sister, Mary Ann Sembera and her husband, Leo of Rosenberg; his brothers, Arnold Kaluza Sr. and his wife, Helen of Timpson and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and very close friends.

E.J. proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Infantry. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a third degree knight with the Knights of Columbus in Needville, and he was a member of the K.J.T.
