New Ulm Enterprise Nov. 12, 1998 Abstract of Obituary Thomas Martin Kamas, 100, died Nov. 8, 1998 in Needville. Funeral services for Mr. Kamas were held Nov. 11 from Nelsonville Brethren Church with Rev. Michael Groseclose officiating. Burial was at National Cemetery. Born Dec. 21, 1897, he was the son of Joseph and Rozina Vanek Kamas n Nelsonville. He married Anna Ripple in 1922 and they had three sons. Mr. Kamas went to live in the SPJST home after the death of his wife Anna in 1995. A former elder of the Nelsonville Brethren Church. Survivors include his son, Thomas J. Kamas; grandchildren, Carol K. Mann, James S. Kamas, Dr. Theresa K. McLean, Dr. Carmen Kamas Wieting, Susan K. Vonderheid and Daniel S. Kamas; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and three sisters; wife; sons, Daniel C. and James B. Kamas; grand-daughter Tanya Kamas; and daughter-in-law, Betty W. Kamas. Funeral services were under the direction of Knesek Bros./Etlinger Funeral Chapel of Bellville.
