Victoria Advocate Richmond - Ivan Andrew Kana, 84, of Richmond and formerly of Midfield, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004. He was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Holman, to the late Joseph and Amalie Kristik Kana. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Cecil Lee American Legion Post 649 of Blessing and the KJT Society. He was a retired farmer and was an electrician for Osina & Knebel Electric of El Campo. Survivors: wife, Annie Nemec Kana; daughter, Patricia Ann Hogan of Stafford; sons, Francis Joseph Kana of Bossier City, La., and Paul Kana of Richmond; sisters, Georgian Pilgrim of Summerset and Dorothy Oliver of Miami; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: son, William Kana; sisters, Martha Mazoch and Mary Bartosh; and brothers, Charlie Kana, Jerome Kana, and Edwin Kana. Visitation will begin 1 p.m. today at Triska Funeral Home chapel. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in El Campo. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery in Blessing. Triska Funeral Home, El Campo, 979-543-3681.
