Victoria Advocate online Sunday September 16, 2001 El Campo -- Steve S. Kana Jr., 83, of El Campo, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001. He was born Dec. 6, 1917, in Dubina, to the late Steve Sr. and Frances Kana. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He was a retired farmer and mechanic. He was a member of SPJST Society, KJT and St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors: wife, Rosa Mae Nedbalek Kana; daughters, Debbie Lewis of Houston and Nancy Dunlap of Kingswood; sons, Gary Kana of El Campo and James Kana of The Woodlands; sister, Edith Katzfey of San Antonio; brothers, Edmund Kana and Henry Kana, both of El Campo, and George Kana of Palacios; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Monday at Triska Funeral Home chapel. A parish wake service will be 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, the Rev. Michael Petering officiating. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
