V.J. "Jiggs" Kana, age 79 of Eagle Lake, Texas passed away January 1, 2001 in a Houston hospital.

Retired from US Postal Service in 1984. Member of Knights of Columbus Council #4843, 3rd Degree; Christopher Columbus Assembly No. 1136, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus; K.J.T. Society of Holman, Tx; Parish of the Nativity, Eagle Lake; V.F.W. Post #8783 having served with the US Navy during WW II. Played Semi-pro baseball for the Weimar Herder Truckers team '48-'49.

Survivors; Wife, Elizabeth Anders Kana, Eagle Lake; daughter, Betty Jane Kana, Eagle Lake; son, Phil Kana & wife Elizabeth D., Katy, Tx; granddaughters, Amanda and Elissa Kana, Katy, Tx; Sisters, Cecilia Bartosh, Columbus, Tx, Henrietta Strunk, Oakland, Tx. Brother, Leroy Kana, Bastrop,Tx.

A vigil service will be held 7:00 PM, Wednesday, Jan. 3rd, from the Chapel of Dulany Funeral Home. Funeral Services 10:00 AM, Thursday, Jan. 4th, from the Parish of the Nativity's Our Lady of Perpetual Help Sanctuary, Eagle Lake.

Graveside Services and Interment, 2:00 PM, Thursday, Holman Catholic Cemetery, Holman, Tx.
