Fayette County Record Page 12 Tuesday, June 4, 2002 Lena (Bohac) Karstedt, 89, of La Grange died May 31 [2002] in Austin. Funeral services were held Monday, June 3 [2002] at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in the La Grange City Cemetery. The Rev. Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz officiated. Born May 19, 1913 in Ammannsville, she was the daughter of Adam and Johanna (Vojtek) Bohac. She married Edwin Karstedt Sr. Dec. 7, 1933 in La Grange. He preceded her in death in 2001. A homemaker, she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Survivors include her children, Janie and Daniel Neiser of Weimar/Holman, Edwin Karstedt Jr., Jimmy and Kay Karstedt, Teresa and Jerry Schneider and Carol and Billy Roensch, all of La Grange, and JoAnn and Rick Blume of Lockhart; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Linda and Mark Besetzny, Ann and Donald Dobecka, James and Julie Karstedt, John and Bonny Karstedt, Holly Blume, Michael Roensch, Danny and Donna Neiser, Lori and Dan Leer, Katina and Kenny Kunetka, Kelly Blume, Crystal Roensch and Joel Schneider; 15 great-grandchildren; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wilburn and Lydia Karstedt, Vernon and Bertha Karstedt and Veronica Kristoff, all of La Grange. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five sisters, three brothers, and one great-grandson, Kyle. Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of choice. Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home of La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
