Funeral services for Sophie Kaspar, 94, of Fayetteville were held Saturday, Dec 22, 2001, at 10 AM at St. John's Cathlic Church in Fayetteville with burial in the Fayetteville Catholic Cemetery. Rev. Msgr. Ben Mazurkiewicz officiated.

Mrs. Kaspar died Dec 19 in Fayette Memorial Hospital in La Grange TX.

She was born May 8, 1907 in Rutersville, the daughter of John and Julie Polasek Chovanec. She married Joseph Kaspar October 16, 1928 in Fayetteville. A homemaker, she was a member of the Catholic faith, St. John's Catholic Church, Fayetteville, and KJZT.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth Muske of Oldenburg, Mary Machinsky and husband, Wilfred, of New Ulm, Annie Sodolak and husband, Leonard, of Round Top, one son and daughters-in-law: Leonard Kaspar and wife, Lois, of Fayetteville, Aurleen Kaspar of La Grange, one brother and sister-in-law: Bernard and Ruth Chovancec of La Grange, sisters-in-law: Felicia Chovanec of La Grange, Josie Chovanec of La Grange, sisters: Kristina Muesse of Fayetteville, Justina Zbranek of La Grange, three sons-in-law: Joe Rabel of Schulenburg, Alois Keilers of Houston, Leo Noska of Fayetteville, plus 34 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, in 1962, parents, infant son, Jerome, and son, John Kaspar, daughters; Sydonia Kaspar, Albina Rabel,Josephine Noska brothers; Zigmund Chovanec, Adolph Chovanec, Frank Chovanec, Raymond Chovanec, sister; Albina Chovanec and three grandchildren.

Koenig and Strickland Funeral Home of La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
