Services for Louis Otto Kasper, 83, of 1122 Jocelyn, the first principal of Trinity Lutheran School, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 5878 Bellfort. Kasper, who died Monday, edited the first textbook used by Lutheran schools in Texas, "A Course of Study for Lutheran Schools." He was principal from 1907 until 1917, when he left Houston. He served schools in several other states and then returned in 1948 and lived here until his death. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Emma Kasper; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Knudson, Mrs. Arvilla Weise, Mrs. Grace Tonn; a son, Raymond Kasper; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, all of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Zoch, Winchester; Mrs. Bertha Kollman, Los Angeles; Mrs. Marie Ernst, Blue Hill, Neb.; a brother, Otto Kasper, Giddings. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery at 2300 State.
