Cleo Joseph Lyssy, a resident of Falls City, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at the age of 82 years and 23 days.
He was born in Falls City on Jan. 6, 1920, to Adela Dziuk and Vincent Lyssy Sr.
Along with his father and brothers, he founded Lyssy Dairy in 1957. In addition, he was a farmer and a rancher.
Mr. Lyssy was a lifetime member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.
He had lived all of his life in Falls City.
A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.
A Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Father Mike Mushalla officiated the services.
Interment followed in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kevin V. Lyssy, Roger Wiatrek, Melvin Lyssy, Jonathan Wiatrek, Fabian Wiatrek, and Larry Wiatrek.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lyssy was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur and Leo Lyssy; a sister, Lorraine Wiatrek; and infant sisters Annie and Margorie Lyssy.
He is survived by his loving friend, Agnes Wiatrek; brothers Fred Lyssy and Vincent Lyssy Jr., both of Falls City; sisters Geraldine McLaurin, Wilma Kotara, and Mary Rose Pawlik, all of San Antonio, and Evelyn Pollok of Adkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
