Funeral services for Kenneth "Jim" Macat of Bellville were held Monday, November 28, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Nelsonville Brethren Church with Rev. Michael Groseclose officiating. Interment was at the National Cemetery near Nelsonville. Mr. Macat passed away Friday, November 15 in Bellville. He was 65 years of age. Born in Austin County, he was the son of Ernest Macat and Elsie Siptak Macat. He was sailed in Bellville, attended the Bellville Public Schools and received his G.E.D. in the Army. "Jim" married the former Miss Edna Fritsche on April 2, 1960 in Houston. He served his country in the United States Army until 1959 when he transferred to the U.S. Army Reserves until 1962. Mr. Macat was a member of the Nelsonville Brethren Church, S.P.J.S.T. of Bleiblerville and the Carpenters Union B of Houston. He was the owner of a home building company. He is survived by his wife, Edna Macat of Bellville; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Steve Knoll[sic], Kathy and Richard Saxon; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Becky Macat; sister, Joyce Zapalac; grandchildren, Kyle and Cody Knoll[sic], Taylor and Kennedy Saxon and Colton Macat, all of Bellville. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Delmo Siptak and Sidney Macat. Serving as pallbearers were Steve Knoll, Richard Saxon, Kyle Knoll, Ben Fritsche, Frank Macat and Delvin Syptak. Honorary pallbearers were David and Doris Siptak and Sandra Fritsche. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Services were under the direction of Knesek Funeral Chapel of Bellville.
