She died Tuesday, April 23, 2002.

She was born Jan. 30, 1895 in Flatonia and married Victor H. Macha on Dec. 18, 1913, in Bomarton. He died Nov. 27, 1958. She attended school at Korn in Bomarton. She moved to the Dixie community in Lynn County in 1919 and moved to Lubbock in 1953. She was a homemaker and volunteered at Catholic Family Services. She was a member of Christ the King Cathedral.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Survivors include three daughters, Edith M. Macha and Lebusha Huser, both of Lubbock, and Irma M. Bednarz of Slaton; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Christ the King Cathedral Building Fund.

Note: I wanted to add that this lady was a childhood friend of my grandmother, Janie Pinter (Krizan) Curtis. They were lifelong friends, beginning in Flatonia and ending in Lubbock. The story she told was that Albina was in a creek at Flatonia, and grandma grabbed her by the hair and pulled her out, saving her from drowning. These two widowed ladies enjoyed visiting and speaking Czech when they both lived in Lubbock.
