1/9/1886 - 12/13/1933 The numerous friends of Charles Macha were shocked Thursday morning of last week when it became known that he had passed away at his home, after only a few days illness of pneumonia. Very few knew that he was even ill. On January 9th, 1886, Charles Macha first saw the light of day, at Praha, Fayette County, Texas. In July, 1909, he was married to Miss Mary Konecny. To this union four children were born, three of whom survive as follows: Charles Jr., age 16, Alex age 12, and Viola who was 8 years old, Dec. 13th, the day of her father's death. These with the sorrowing mother survive, also seven brothers, J. J. Macha Seymour, Albert of Corpus Christi, Louis of Gonzales, Frank of Waco, William and Ed of Shiner and Alex Macha. Funeral services were conducted from the family residence, thence to Catholic Church, with Father Netardus conducting the last sad rites, with burial in the Catholic Cemetery, Friday afternoon at 2:30. At the time of his death deceased was 47 years, eleven months and four days old. The pallbearers were B. J. Novak, Gus Seim, Curt Messer: Geo. Cook, Edwin Rabe and Arthur Ummelmann. Mr. Macha had spent practically all of his life in Shiner, where he formed many friendships, all of whom will join the Gazette in extending to his family circle and other near relatives heartfelt sympathy in their sorrow.
