Hungerford - William "Bill" Frank Macha, 86, of Hungerford, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002.

He was born March 14, 1916, in Hungerford, to the late Emil Sr. and Annie Barta Macha. He was a retired surveyor in the civil engineering department with Houston Power and Light. He was a honorary member of the Hungerford Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Knight's of Columbus and St. John's Catholic Church.

Survivors: daughters, Veronica Franks of Hungerford and Jeanette Shibest of Houston; sisters, Cecilia Svajda of Corpus Christi, Martha Krenek and Vlasta Hanslik, both of Wharton; brothers, Bennie Macha of Houston; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by: wife, Cecelia Wasicek Macha; daughter, Anita Simons; son, David Macha; parents; brothers, Emil Macha Jr. and Victor Macha.

A parish rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hungerford.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Henry Rachunek officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery. Triska Funeral Home, El Campo, 979-543-3681.
