Funeral services for Eugene John Machala, 61, of Sealy were held March 3 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Frydek with the Rev Bernard Snock officiating. Burial followed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Sealy. He died Feb 28 in Katy. He was born May 31, 1938 in Sealy, the son of Vince F and Sophia (Kocurek) Machala. He was raised in Sealy and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic schools in Sealy. He worked as a field seismograph technician for an oil company and was a member of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Stephen Glenn of Birmingham, Al. and Lisa and Chris Grall of Dallas; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris Bravenec and Leona and Glenn Manos of Carrollton, a brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Dorothy Machala of Sealy; and a grandson, Christopher Taylor Glenn. Pallbearers were Mike Frankie and Darrell Bravenec, Henry Zapalac Jr. and James and Daniel Machala. Funeral handled by Knesek Family Funeral Chapels of Sealy.
