El Campo -- Hilda Mary Machart, 88, of El Campo, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999. She was born May 28, 1911, in Lavaca County, to the late Frank and Anastasia Berckenhoff Derrich. She was a homemaker and was Catholic. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and was a former member of Legion of Mary. Survivors: daughters, Evelyn Schaefer of Hallettsville, Dorothy Gleason of Schulenburg, Norma Wasek, Ann Arnold and Marilyn Lutringer, all of El Campo and Sharon Johnston of Brenham; sons, Melvin Machart of Cold Springs and Allen Machart of The Woodlands; sisters, Mary Brotze of Wharton, Sidonia Kross(should be Cross) of Houston and Dorothy Riha of El Campo; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband, Raymond Machart; daughter, Leona Machart; brothers, Edwin Derrich and Elo Derrich; and sisters, Esther Kurtz, Edna Kurtz and Celestina Stavinoha. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today at Triska Funeral Home chapel. A wake service and Catholic Daughter rosary will be 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church in New Taiton, the Rev. Michael Petering and Deacon Jarrel Nohavitza officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
