Point Comfort - Frank L. Machicek, 82, of Point Comfort, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002.

He was born March 12, 1920, in Schulenburg, to the late August and Mary Riha Machicek. He was a maintenance oiler for Alcoa and a Catholic. He served in the Air Force during World War II.

Survivors: wife, Martha Kahanek Machicek; sons, Franklin Machicek, Dennis Machicek and Dwayne Machicek, all of Point Comfort; sister, Rosie Maly of Shiner; brother, James Machicek of San Antonio and Julius Machicek of Schulenburg; eight grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: son, Allen Machicek; parents; sister, Agnes Machicek; brothers, Joe Machicek, Adolph Machicek, Max Machicek, Henry Machicek and John Machicek; and one grandson.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gulf Catholic church, the Rev. Robert Guerra officiating. Burial under the auspices of the VFW Post No. 4403 will be at Port Lavaca Cemetery. Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home, Port Lavaca, 361-552-2988.
